OUR

SERVICES

WELLNESS EXAMS

A wellness exam is a type of preventative care. Preventative healthcare focuses on maintaining wellness and stopping health problems before they occur. Instead of waiting until a health issue occurs.

MICROCHIPPING

A microchip is a permanent method of electronic identification.

The chip itself is very small – about the size of a grain of rice – and is implanted subcutaneously (just under the skin) between the shoulder blades at the back of your pet's neck.

Each chip has a unique number that is detected using a microchip scanner

VACCINATIONS

Vaccinations are required for all dogs and cats.

A vaccine administered to a healthy animal stimulates the immune system to mount an effective response to kill disease-causing microbes when the body is exposed to them.

Routine vaccinations are undertaken from when your pet is 6 to 8 weeks old.

Your pet will require boosters at regular intervals and the most suitable schedule will be discussed with you when you first bring him/her in.

SURGERY

We have a wide range of surgical facilities and equipment.

This enables  us to perform sterile surgeries including soft tissue surgery and orthopaedic operations, as well as non-sterile surgeries such as bite wound treatments and abscess drainage.

EMERGENCY CARE

As a small practice, and due to the lack of country veterinarians it impossible for us to be available 24 / 7.

However, we aim to provide an emergency veterinary service until 8pm weekdays and 1pm Saturdays after which time we emergency veterinary care can be found at:

Dr Jason Andrews: BSc (Hons) BVSc (Hons) MANCZS (Animal Reproduction)

I have been a companion animal veterinarian for 18 years, having spent my entire working career in country mixed and equine practice. My veterinary interests are wide and varied. However, I have a special interest in theriogenology (animal reproduction) particularly dogs and horses. Having recently completed specialist training at Charles Sturt University (Wagga Wagga) in comparative theriogenology becoming a member of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Surgeons (in Animal Reproduction).

I  worked in Canberra, the Hunter Valley (Scone), an eventually owned a large mixed practice in the New England region of Northern NSW for a number of years but my wife and I always wanted to settle somewhere in the Adelaide Hills.

My personal interests include horses, and I am currently lucky enough to be competitively eventing a number of horses that I have bred using imported frozen semen. We also like to keep fit, eat good food and drink red wine, hopefully we have come to the right part of the country for that.
